Our goal is to facilitate and nourish the Human-Animal Bond while providing thorough and innovative personalized pet care to an exclusive, membership-based community.
OUR STORY
Founders Dr. Nick Pope and Travis York came together through their shared dedication to quality service, love for animal health care, and desire for a more authentic and curated veterinary practice.
They dreamed up Symbios Animal Health based on their years of Experience in the industry, envisioning a model that is both client- and employee-centric, allowing for a model of care and community that is not only more holistic, but ultimately more wholesome for all involved.

Nicholas Pope, DVM
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Nicholas Pope grew up on a farm in Oklahoma knowing he wanted to be a veterinarian from day one. Dr. Pope’s grandmother was the office manager of a multidoctor clinic in his hometown, inspiring his desire for owning and operating veterinary hospitals and beginning his lifelong involvement in the veterinary industry. He is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care, leadership development of his team members, and practice management. He loves living in beautiful Hunterdon County on a small farm with his wife Elizabeth Pope, DVM, and his son, Benjamin. Dr. Popes life is filled with animals within and outside of the practice; two spoiled dogs, Eloise and Brody, and a small herd of cows, goats, and chickens. When not at any of the practices you can find him either fishing the Raritan, golfing, or driving around admiring his cows.
Born in Brooklyn, NY but raised in central New Jersey, I was fond of all types of animals growing up. I went to undergrad at Rutgers University, where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and minored in Marine Biology. I then pursued my life’s dream by graduating with High Honors from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. After vet school, I returned to Brooklyn to practice general medicine and surgery at Marine Park Veterinary Group. I was also lucky enough to work at the Veterinary Emergency and Referral Group as a staff ER doctor for several years. At the time it was the only 24-hour emergency and referral center in Brooklyn. In 2013 I helped open, and became the medical director, for Mill Basin Veterinary Clinic where I was able to develop strong bonds with clients and patients in the south Brooklyn neighborhood. Family brought me back to my roots in NJ in 2022. I am happy to have found a home working with Symbios Animal Health staff and look forward to meeting their valued clients and patients. Outside of veterinary medicine, I enjoy all things outdoorsy including hiking, running, gardening and even obstacle races. At home I enjoy crafting, movie time and spending time with my husband Joshua and 3 cats (Patrick, Eugene and Ham Sandwich) and rescue dog Micco.
